We are delighted to announce that the work to refurbish the courtyard garden at a UCLH staff facility, a base for hundreds of clinical and non-clinical teams, is complete.

courtyard9.jpgThe garden has had a makeover, and has new flooring, planters and furniture transforming a dark, uninviting space into a welcoming, calming space.

The new staff garden has been made possible by funding from the Oak Foundation. Their grant is enabling refurbishment of green spaces across UCLH.

Research suggests that access to nature in medical environments is vital for wellbeing, and feedback from our staff and patients tells us that they value these spaces to take a break from a busy work day or from the sterile environment of wards and treatment areas.

Carol Haraldsson, head of charitable giving at UCLH said:

“Thanks to the generosity of the Oak Foundation, the UCLH gardens are being transformed. This latest development is one part of an exciting programme to improve many of our gardens and create wonderful outdoor spaces for everyone to enjoy.”
