Staff, patients and their loved ones are pulling on their UCLH Charity vests and running 13.1 miles to make a difference to patients, staff and research at UCLH.
Among our staff runners is Andy Davey, divisional manager at the Royal National Ear, Nose and Throat and Eastman Dental Hospitals where he is responsible for making sure the clinical and non-clinical staff have everything they need to help patients access the best care as quickly and safely as possible.
Andy is running his first ever half marathon (and the Saucony 10k in the summer). Having worked at UCLH for 10 years in various roles, Andy said: “I have seen first-hand the incredible work the UCLH Charity does for our staff and patients and so I thought it was time I gave something back (however small!)
“From the staff garden, to support for sensory equipment to help our neuro-divergent patients feel more at ease during dental treatment to the innovative digital dentistry programme, the support from the Charity helps us do more for patients and staff.”
You can cheer Andy and our other runners with us between miles 10 and 11 at our St Paul’s cheerpoint.
Support Andy via his JustGiving page.
