We have been overwhelmed with the support for UCLH staff during the Covid-19 pandemic. To everyone who has supported UCLH we would like to say a heartfelt thank you. As well as direct donations to our staff campaign on JustGiving, we have received so many gifts in kind from local companies, big business and individual donors – too many to mention here but we are trying to say ‘thank you’ via social media as donations and gifts come in, so look out on Twitter (@uclhcharity) and Facebook (@TheUCLHCharity) for updates. Staff are also sharing their thanks, in between shifts, which is lovely to see.
From hand cream for cracked hands to tea and coffee for breaks, to industrial fridges for storing food and sofas for staff rest areas, our staff are being taken care of as they care for patients during these challenging, unprecedented times. The fundraising team is out and about, ensuring donations are distributed to staff at UCLH where they are most needed.
As well as support from UCLH donors, staff have also benefitted from national drives such as the #feedtheNHS campaign led by Damian Lewis, Helen McCory, Matt Lucas and Leon founder John Vincent to provide staff with hot, healthy, meals on a regular basis. Deliveroo – with whom UCLH have an established relationship (we featured in the 2019 Christmas #forthemidwives campaign) – is also making vouchers available to staff across the NHS. We will also be allocated some of the funds raised in the nationwide NHS Charities Together campaign.
So again, a big thank you to everyone. You are making a difference that is hugely appreciated. Stay at home, stay safe.
