We were delighted to accept a cheque for £100,000 yesterday from food delivery company Deliveroo. This follows the Christmas campaign 'Second Best Delivery Service' which featured UCLH midwife Katy.
The short film and TV advertisement followed a typical day in the life of Katy, a midwife at UCLH's Elizabeth Garrett Anderson (EGA) Wing. Prospective parents and a new dad cradling his four hour old daughter also appeared.
The campaign attracted widespread media coverage and celebrity endorsements - the film was viewed on You Tube over 230,000 times.
Head of charitable giving Carol Haraldsson said, "We are thrilled that Deliveroo’s Christmas campaign celebrating NHS Midwives has generated a donation of £100,000! Thank you so much Deliveroo—your generous support will make a huge difference to all the midwives at UCLH NHS Foundation Trust."
The money raised will go towards education and development of midwives at UCLH.
