Neurology and neurosurgery

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery is the UK’s largest dedicated neurological and neurosurgical hospital.

What the hospital provides

The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery (NHNN) treats over 6,000 inpatients, 120,000 outpatients and 8,000 day cases each year. The centre provides comprehensive services for the diagnosis, treatment and care of all conditions that affect the brain, spinal cord, peripheral nervous system and muscles.  Services include specialist neurosurgery, a brain tumour unit, the Hyper-acute Stroke Unit (HASU), an acute brain injury unit, the National Prion Clinic, a pioneering neuro-rehabilitation unit, MRI scanners, the largest specialised neurosurgical ITU and the only neuromedical ITU in the country. Together with its neighbour, the Institute of Neurology, it is a major international centre for research and training.

By donating to the fund, you will be supporting all of the services above, and will enable the department to replenish any equipment and materials as they wish.
