| UCLH Charity - How you can help us | |
Please consider remembering UCLH Charity in your will. Money can be left to a particular department and we will follow your wishes regarding how you would like the legacy to be used.
Possible wording for a will
You can choose to leave us a share of your estate or alternatively set aside a fixed sum (although it is worth bearing in mind that this will depreciate with inflation).
I give all (or a % share) of the residue of my estate to UCLH Charities - registered charity no 229771
5th floor East, 250 Euston Road, London NW1 2PG and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or duly authorised officer shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge.
I give the sum of £.....(amount in figures and words) to UCLH Charity - registered charity no 229771
5th floor East, 250 Euston Road, London NW1 2PG and I direct that the receipt of the Treasurer or duly authorised officer shall be a valid and appropriate form of discharge.
If you leave money to general purposes, the Trustees will ensure that it is spent on the most urgent projects. It helps if you do not specify the application of your gift too closely, because types of equipment, ward names and treatments may all change over time.
However, if you have a specific project you wish to support, we can take this into account. For example, if you wish to support research please include the wording, "Such a bequest to be used specifically for research into (insert area of interest)". If you wish to support projects addressing specific areas or run by a particular hospital, please include the wording, "Such a bequest to be used specifically for projects at (insert hospital) relating to (insert area of interest)".
You can download more information about leaving a legacy: this includes specimen wordings, a list of the steps you need to take and a checklist to help you.
You can also help the work of the hospital by donating or collecting money in memory of a friend or relative, perhaps in lieu of asking for flowers at a funeral: this could contribute to research or amenities to help others who are also suffering. For instance, we recently received over £8,000 which a supporter collected in memory of his young wife, who was treated in UCH, and this was used to provide artwork in her memory to brighten up the ward for other patients.
The online donation website JustGiving can host fundraising pages in memory of your loved ones.
